Chief Engineer (***Due to work permit complexities, we would like to consider only American citizens or Dutch citizens) (POSITION NOT IN MIAMI)
Our client, a luxury resort in the Caribbean, requires a Chief Engineer/Asst. Director of Engineering (CE) to oversee the Engineering department. This role reports to the General Manager of the hotel and to the VP of Operations.
The CE maintains the buildings and grounds of a resort that has more than 500 rooms and residences, over 5 restaurants and large banqueting space. The CE is responsible for directing staff and overseeing the upkeep of equipment and supplies. The CE makes sure the buildings and grounds are maintained, which entails daily and weekly cleaning schedules as well as determining and scheduling repairs, renovation projects, waste reduction improvements and safety inspections.
The CE oversees a budget and must negotiate with outside vendors for supplies, repairs and other measures. The CE oversee groundskeepers, maintenance workers, and custodial staff. The responsibility of this role is standard of what is required of a CE of a resort property.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Preferred candidates for this role are US or Dutch citizens due to visa application complexities . A CE would normally need a combination of relevant experience and qualifications. This could include (hard) technical skills related to buildings and property as well as (soft) management skills.
A strong number two of a large resort may apply.
Qualifications could include the following:
o An Engineering or foundation degree, HND or degree in Facilities Management.
o Engineering, Management or Business studies.
o Relevant professional qualifications for the role
ADDITIONAL JOB SKILLS:
Analytical Skills; Communication skills; Leadership Skills and Attention to detail (Hands on) are critical skills our client is looking for.
COMPENSATION:
Base Salary: For base salary - A six-day work week US$72,000 net annually or for five and half days work week US$63,000 net annually. Accommodation allowance and other ex-pat company benefits
